⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ **Exceptional Service, Quality Turf & Fantastic Customer Care** I cannot recommend **Berkshire Turf – Quality Garden Turf and Topsoil Supplier** highly enough. From start to finish, the service I received was absolutely exceptional, and a special thank you has to go to **Gabriel**, the owner. This was my **first time laying a lawn**, so I had very little experience and needed quite a bit of advice. Gabriel was incredibly helpful, patient and supportive throughout the whole process. He guided me through every stage, giving me practical advice on preparing the ground, laying the turf and looking after the new lawn afterwards. I genuinely felt that he cared about making sure I achieved the best possible result, rather than simply making a sale. What impressed me most was the level of aftercare. A few pieces of turf became sun-burned, and when I spoke to Gabriel about it, he went above and beyond to help. He arranged additional turf for me **at his own cost**, which I thought was an incredibly kind and professional gesture. That level of customer service is very rare these days and says a lot about Gabriel and the way he runs his business. The **topsoil was also excellent quality**, and overall I have been extremely pleased with both the products and the service. If you are looking for good-quality turf and topsoil together with genuine advice and outstanding customer care, I would wholeheartedly recommend Berkshire Turf. Gabriel has been an amazing support throughout my first lawn project, and I wouldn't hesitate to use the company again. **Thank you, Gabriel, for going above and beyond — truly exceptional service from beginning to end!**

Used just before the heatwave kicked in in June. Great service, easy to order, turned up bang on time, very good quality turf, my lawn is looking great and I've had lots of lovely compliments about how great it looks. Would use again and have recommended to neighbours.

Before ordering my turf and topsoil, I did a lot of research and compared quite a few different suppliers because I really wanted to make sure I was getting good quality products for my garden. I genuinely believe this is one of the best companies in West London. The quality of both the turf and topsoil was excellent, and my garden is now looking beautiful. What impressed me most, though, was the customer service. At the beginning, I had a few areas of turf that weren’t doing very well, and every time I contacted them, they replied quickly and gave me clear advice on exactly what to do. I followed their advice and the grass recovered really well. For me, good customer service isn’t just about selling you a product and then disappearing. It’s knowing that if you need help afterwards, you can contact the company and they’ll actually be there to support you. That’s exactly the experience I had with Gabriele and the team. Excellent products, excellent customer service and genuinely helpful people. I’m very happy with the result and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for quality turf and topsoil. Thank you again! 🌱⭐

Fantastic service. This was the first time I have purchased and laid turf. Gabriele took his time and walked me though how to prepare the ground through to laying of the turf. The turf was top quality and arrived on time. The results were impeccable and I am really pleased. 5* service.

What a great service received with my order, from Gabriele. Kept updated throughout, received a text @ 9.30 on the morning of delivery with a 2 hr time slot. Friendly, helpful driver. Very pleased. And as for the premium turf, WOW, fantastic quality. My turfing guy said “it’s one of the best quality turfs he’s seen in the 30 years he’s been laying”. So that’s saying something !!. Ive been using Rowlawn for a while, but found they are getting expensive and the quality not up to scratch. Just found a new supplier

Garden Turf vs Grass Seed in Sandford-on-Thames

Now you may think that as growers and suppliers of quality garden turf in Sandford-on-Thames OX4, we may be slightly biased on this topic, but we will just present some facts.

Rolled Turf Sandford-on-Thames – Why use it?

Garden turf is easy to lay giving you a green lawn instantly, it is normally ready to use within 3-6 weeks. Buying turf shortens the process by 6-12 months and, you’re saving yourself a great deal of hassle.

If you’re worried about seed varieties or quality, with turf you don’t need to – it’s been done for you
Ever tried sowing grass seed evenly? It’s not easy to do! – with our turf, there are no clumps or bald patches in your new lawn
Birds won’t affect your new turf, but they will feed on your grass seed like there’s no tomorrow!
You won’t have trouble with neighbours’ cats digging up your turf to “fertilize” the soil
The point of planting grass seed is to get nice green grass, isn’t it? With our Sandford-on-Thames turf, you have it instantly!
You can walk on your turf in as little as 3 weeks.

Laying Your Garden Turf Yourself in Sandford-on-Thames – Reasons Why Not to Do It Yourself

Laying turf requires hard work and energy (but it also burns calories!)
It’s dirty – unless you like soil in your car, it's best to have it delivered. We provide a quick and efficient Sandford-on-Thames garden turf delivery service.
Peace of Mind - Allow us to ensure that your newly ordered grass turf is delivered quickly and laid professionally so you have more time to enjoy it.

Grass Seed Sandford-on-Thames – Why use it?

It takes a lot longer to establish a lawn from grass seed than from turf, but grass seed does give you a huge variety of choices.

You’ll be able to choose the seed mix best suited to your requirements once you have done your research
Grass seed can be stored until the ground has been prepared and the weather is suitable
You don’t need to be energetic, agile, or strong to sow grass seed, it is very light.
There is no mess involved
Leftover seed can be stored and used for lawn repairs in the future

The Disadvantages of Grass Seed in Sandford-on-Thames

So, here’s the trade-off. Garden turfing is a little more expensive, but the results are instant. Sandford-on-Thames Grass seed is cheaper but takes much more time.

There are a huge number of grass seed mixes available and choosing the right one for you can be difficult to say the least.
In colder weather, germination is slow and is often uneven.
Once sown, you need to protect your grass seed. Birds will feed on it and cats will do the inevitable.
Once your grass appears, there will be a variety of weeds that will have grown alongside your grass – you will need to remove them.
To create a mature lawn from grass seed will take between 6-12 months.
Grass seeds can be washed off slopes.

Grass Feed Sandford-on-Thames

Having laid your quality garden turf, you will want to keep it looking its best. It’s a fact that garden turf benefits from regular grass feed. Without extra nutrients, the grass soon uses up plant food reserves in the soil and then turns pale and thin.

However, it is important to not use a ‘weed and feed’ fertilizer until the roots are well established. The ‘weed’ control element of the application can kill the turf.

Why You Should Feed Your Sandford-on-Thames Garden Turf

Without grass feed to develop side shoots and thickness a lawn is susceptible to weeds and moss that thrive in low nutrient conditions. A regular supply of grass feed makes your lawn thick and green.

Some grass feed treatments in Sandford-on-Thames just feed your garden lawn, but others have added ingredients such as weed killers and /or moss killers. Some grass feeds are better than others as they can release nitrogen and feed over several weeks rather than in one rush soon after application. Please go to our caring for your lawn page for more information.
